Module Outline

The aim of the module is to enable researchers and those working in clinical settings to develop their knowledge and ability to participate in and conduct clinical trials research. This aims to cater for professionals from a wide range of backgrounds. The emphasis is on Multidisciplinary working for all staff in clinical trials to equip participants with the knowledge to be future CIs/PIs of clinical trials.

Module learning outcomes

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the design and management of clinical trials

Critically assess the principles and strategies of trial management and statutory requirements when conducting trials in clinical settings.

Critically understand the relationship between researchers and industry in clinical trials

Demonstrate an advanced level of understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GPC) guidelines, research ethics and governance in clinical settings.
