Module Outline
The broad aim of this module is to provide an introduction to the main diagnostic categories of psychological disorders, the major theories of causation and approaches to treatment, and to encourage you to appreciate the links between theory and treatment of those disorders.
Module learning outcomes
Demonstrate understanding of some of the major diagnostic categories of psychological disorders, theories of causation and approaches to treatments for those disorders
Demonstrate knowledge of the relationship between theory and practice in clinical psychology
Critically evaluate evidence, extract and summarise relevant material from original texts and to integrate material from different sources
Observe progression in writing skills, oral skills, presentation skills, group working skills
