Teaching and research technician/tutor from 1976 to 2015. ÌýSubjects include research on the control of shistosomosis using the tropical aquatic snail hosts. ÌýDownland turf biodiversity, bird population biology, freshwater biodiversity, plant physilogy, drosophila genotype management.

Role

I am now a semi-retired Associate. Occasionally tutoring students in ornithology, conservation and ecology, and demonstrating techniques to students.  Occasional lecturing.  I am currently engaged in scientific writing and a bit of ecological research.

Community and Business

Environmental Award (Wealden District Council) 2008

Co-ordinating (voluntary) Warden for Lake Wood (Woodland Trust) Nature Reserve from 1994.

Uckfield Town Councillor from 1996 to 2001.

Chairman of West Park Local Nature Reserve Committee from 1998 to 2015.

Chairman of Hempstead Meadow Local Nature Reserve Committee from 2002 to 2015.

Chairman Lime-Aid since 2005, a committee dedicated to preserving Lime Tree Avenue, Uckfield.

Give talks to local Organisations on Ornithology and Ecology

Committee member Uckfield & District Twinning Association.

Helped to run a 24 consecutive years programme of International Youth Camps from 1990 - 2014.
