Spring teaching

On this module, you’ll explore the challenges involved in creating new ventures.

Through a new venture simulation, you’ll gain hands-on experience of making entrepreneurial decisions in uncertainty. You’ll develop knowledge, skills and confidence in:

  • identifying opportunities
  • business modelling
  • testing feasibility
  • financial planning for a new venture.

Teaching

100%: Practical (Workshop)

Assessment

70%: Coursework (Group presentation)
30%: Written assessment (Essay)

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 33 hours of contact time and about 117 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology.
