Evaluation research is essential for the quality and effectiveness of programmes and services. It also supports accountability in public services such as social work, education and health care. This short module is for you if you already know the basics of evaluation research. You’ll explore key approaches, including impact evaluation, process evaluation and realist evaluation.
You’ll share your experiences of designing and running recent studies. You’ll analyse classic research in the field and discuss a range of methods. You’ll also explore pragmatic, theoretical and methodological issues in evaluation design.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27.
