Producing History (V1497)
15 credits, Level 6
Autumn teaching
History is part of our popular culture, whether this be in:
- agenda-changing documentaries
- award-winning podcasts
- blockbuster museum exhibitions
- hit movies
- bestselling fiction
- cult video games.
Whether enlightening and informative or exciting and inventive, how can we capture an authentic essence of the past while also entertaining the public? How can we shine a light on lesser-known stories from history, and how do we retell those that are more familiar?
On this module, you’ll practice how to communicate and circulate historical research to a variety of different audiences. You’ll do this in ways that bring the past to life in relevant, engaging and illuminating ways.
Building on skills you’ve developed, the module will prepare you for possible careers in the cultural and creative sectors and beyond.
We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
We鈥檒l make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
