Political Ecology and Environmental Justice (013IDS)

30 credits, Level 6

Spring teaching

In this module, you’ll explore the concepts of environmental justice and political ecology. These ideas show how environmental change connects to social justice.

You’ll look at political ecology as a field that interacts with the public. This includes joining in activism and social movements. The assessments focus on public communication and creative methods. This will help improve your job skills and link you to real-world environmental justice struggles.

The module has three sections:

· Theoretical insights into political ecology and environmental justice.

· Workshops on communication techniques and group work for your assessments.

· A series of case studies and guest speakers discussing political ecological concerns.
