Form overview
The 'form overview' tab is the basic setup of your form. It's broken down in to three sub-sections:
Form basics
The title and description fields are used when displaying the form and may also be used when displaying the closed status of the form (depending on the option detailed below). The title element is the only required field in this section.
Opening/closing
This area determines when your form opens, closes and what to show if the form is closed.
The form opens field allows you to set the optional date and time when the form will become available. By default, if you do not enter a value then it will be available to use as soon as the form is put on a page. If you set a date but not a time then the form will open at midnight on that date.
The form closes option determines if your form will automatically close and what triggers the closure. You can have the form automatically close when it reaches a certain number of submissions or when a certain date/time is reached (at the time 23:59:59 if a date is supplied but no time). You can also set both items so that the form will automatically close on the first rule to become satisfied.
The what to show option allows you to specify how displaying of the form will be handled when it is closed.
On submission
This determines what will happen when the user submits the form.
You can supply a list of email addresses (one per line) of the people you want to alert when a submission is made. All submissions go in to the database and can be reviewed at any time, so this is just to alert the stakeholders of the form that a submission has been made - they will still need to log into the WCM to review the data.
You can also supply a url of a page, if you want to redirect the user there after they have successfully submitted the form. By default, the user will be presented with a very simply and generic 'thank you' message, but if you create a more complete message on a page within your site then you can select it from here (assuming you have previously created the page), or you can enter the full url to the page, or any other page to which you wish to redirect the user, and they will be taken to that page rather than see the generic message.
