Recovering a previous version
Sometimes you make changes to a page, save, and then realise that maybe you didn’t make the correct changes, or you removed a whole chunk of text that perhaps you shouldn’t have – basically, bad things can happen where you wish to bring back a previous version of the page.
On the site structure you will be shown the number of revisions a page has in the database.
To view the different versions in the database, select the ‘versions’ link and you’ll be presented with a slider bar that you can use to scroll through your different revisions of the page.
Note
When you select the ‘versions’ link the system will do a live synchronisation from the file system in to the database, just in case anything has changed on the file that hasn’t made it in to the database yet. So you may find that if that’s the case and a sync needs to take place that your version count has gone up by one. Don’t worry about it!
The versions page looks something like:
Drag the slider bar and the information will update to let you know when that revision was put in to the database. When you stop sliding (and let go of the mouse button!) the content of the page will be loaded as it was recorded.
To make a copy of that revision live and be then copy shown on the page, select the ‘Use this for the current page’ link.
